Your Own Embrace

Feeling it all
Wash over me
The wall of denial
Broken, gone
Here I sit, alone
Raw, vulnerable
I wonder why it feels
Alright, now
Like I will be just fine
Somehow, okay
Like I’m being hugged
By an old friend
A kind Lady, my Heart
Greeting me hello
And I’m not ashamed
And I’m not scared
I’m wide open now
Feeling it all
Wash over me
The kind Lady Heart saying
See, Kid, sometimes all you need
Is your own embrace
