Lady of the Woods

“I pass forth into light – I find myself beneath a weeping birch – most beautiful of forest trees, the Lady of the Woods.”
(Samuel Taylor Coleridge)

I love Winter, the quietude, the rest, the re-grouping. I am definitely not one of those people that spends all winter complaining about the cold. I cherish it, and I use it well. Because the truth is… I need it. From the inner journey that Winter brings comes the joy and the awakening of Spring. A walk in nature feels new again. Signs of life are everywhere. A smile comes over your face, and you don’t even know why. That’s Spring.

I am now a Lady of the Woods. I want to be out, and I want to breath the fresh air.

“Spring won’t let me stay in this house any longer! I must get out and breathe the air deeply again.”
(Gustav Mahler)

This is a reminder to never give up. All seasons have their reason to be; all emotions have their place. If you are down today, please know that Spring always comes and the sun will shine upon you again.
