Seeing Beauty Again

It’s amazing how much more noticeable beauty is when we are in a relaxed state of mind. There are cycles in which I am so busy that I even forget how much I love trees. Eventually something happens and reminds me of the importance of the practice, of meditation – and I get back to center. And then I can sense beauty again. It has always been there, I was just blind.

Have you felt this way? Just as in meditation practice, when we go for a ride on a thought, notice it, and come back to the breath, in our lives we feel beauty and relaxed, and then go on a run of business and action, get a bit lost, and then come back to beauty. It’s really true that in every small thing, you can see the whole – and this is comforting.

I Am Not To Worry

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
(Lao Tzu)

It is so easy
To get away from tenderness
Getting busy and hungry
Losing myself in accomplishing
Yet, without fail
I notice the lack of calm
The heaviness that arises
When I am out of my center
It is clear now
That I am not to worry
As Life will always show me
That it is time to go back in
To find my true strength
I know this is no race
And the door will never be closed
It is clear now
That I am not to worry
As a flower
I naturally know
When to open
And when to close

Hi.

Being Open

“What produces a genuine person is being open to not feeling okay.”
(Pema Chödrön)

From all of our journeys
The one within will take you deeper
To a place of love and fear
Where Being resides
And when we close our eyes
We suddenly realize
We do not want to go
What we may find scares us
Threatens us
All we want is love
But Dear, listen
Become friendly with yourself
Smile at fear
Welcome your pain
Feel your way in
And all the sudden
You have found a peace
An acceptance
A genuine feeling
That trumps all others
It is Life itself
Embracing you
All of you
