“If you are content in being nobody in particular, content not to stand out, you align yourself with the power of the universe. What looks like weakness to the ego is in fact the only true strength. This spiritual truth is diametrically opposed to the values of our contemporary culture and the way it conditions people to behave. Instead of trying to be a mountain, teaches the ancient Tao Te Ching, ‘Be the valley of the universe.’ In this way, you are restored to wholeness.” (Eckhart Tolle)

Everybody wants to be somebody. It’s just that we lose ourselves on the way more often than not, right?

We are all somebody, already and always and that never gets lost… it’s the idea of defining ourselves and finding boxes/rigid concepts of ourselves that is so harmful to our flexible flow… it’s something that gets us thinking! I know I personally have struggled with trying to find the right definitions for myself, only to find freedom later breaking free from the same walls I built around them – and another idea to consider is how most of us nowadays measure our lives by comparison… so many of us waste so much joy in the trying to be better game. So just as your said it: we lose it. We forget we already are someone special 🙂
