Practicing Maitri

“In order to have compassion for others, we must first have compassion for ourselves.” (Meagan McCrary)

They all say
Love all beings
Treat them as you would treat yourself
But how can you emanate a love
You don’t already have
It all has to start with you
Loving you
Not in a conceptual way
Not in a right or wrong way
But as a Human Being
An indivisible part of the whole
A perfect piece of the puzzle
A wise and deep Being
So make friends with yourself
Find compassion for yourself
Care and embrace yourself
Know your never ending worth
Your always renewed love
Try practicing Maitri

And start feeling at Home
With yourself

Peace Like A River

I’ve got peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river
In my soul

I’ve got peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river
In my soul

I’ve got love like an ocean
I’ve got love like an ocean
I’ve got love like an ocean
In my soul

I’ve got love like an ocean
I’ve got love like an ocean
I’ve got love like an ocean
In my soul

I’ve got joy like a fountain
I’ve got joy like a fountain
I’ve got joy like a fountain
In my soul

I’ve got joy like a fountain
I’ve got joy like a fountain
I’ve got joy like a fountain
In my soul

Nobody In Particular

“If you are content in being nobody in particular, content not to stand out, you align yourself with the power of the universe. What looks like weakness to the ego is in fact the only true strength. This spiritual truth is diametrically opposed to the values of our contemporary culture and the way it conditions people to behave. Instead of trying to be a mountain, teaches the ancient Tao Te Ching, ‘Be the valley of the universe.’ In this way, you are restored to wholeness.” (Eckhart Tolle)
